구동사 (phrasal verb) 5개를 이용한 대화 (dialog) 3

  • Break down(고장나다/분해하다)
  • Carry on(계속하다)
  • Get along(사이좋게 지내다/협조하다)
  • Hold on(기다리다/잠깐만)
  • Look up(찾아보다/조사하다)

이번에는 해석이 아예 밑에 첨부해두었다. key point가 되는 단어는 dialog 하단에 정리했다.


Break down(고장나다/분해하다)

 

A: My car broke down on the way to work this morning.

B: Oh no! What did you do?

A: I had to call a tow truck and take it to the mechanic.

 

*tow truck: 견인차

*mechanic: 정비소,정비공

 

A: Can you help me break down these boxes?

B: Sure, no problem.

 

A: I don’t understand this math problem.

B: Let me try to break it down for you.

 

Carry on(계속하다)

 

A: I’m so tired of studying.

B: Just carry on a little longer. The exam is tomorrow.

 

A: The flight attendant told us to put our bags in the overhead compartment and carry on with our seat belts fastened.

B: Okay, let’s do that.

 

*compartment: 수납합,객실,보관용 칸

 *fastened: 채우다 , 단단히 잠그다

 

A: I don’t know if I can finish this project.

B: Don’t give up. Just carry on and do your best.

 

Get along(사이좋게 지내다/협조하다)

 

A: Do you and your sister get along?

B: Yes, we’re very close.

 

A: I’m worried about the new team members.

B: Why?

A: I hope they can get along with everyone else.

 

A: How was your trip with your friends?

B: It was great! We all got along really well.

 

Hold on(기다리다/잠깐만)

 

A: Can you pass me the salt?

B: Sure, just hold on a second.

 

A: I need to make a phone call.

B: Okay, hold on while I get my phone.

 

A: Are you ready to leave?

B: Not yet, can you hold on for a few more minutes?

 

Look up(찾아보다/조사하다)

 

A: Do you know the capital of France?

B: Yes, it’s Paris. But if you’re not sure, you can always look it up.

 

A: How do you spell this word?

B: I’m not sure. Let’s look it up in the dictionary.

 

A: I want to learn more about this topic.

B: You should look up some articles or books about it.

 


 

Break down(고장나다/분해하다)

 

A: 오늘 아침 출근길에 내 차가 고장났어.

B: 아이고! 어떻게 했어?

A: 견인차를 불러서 정비소에 가져갔어.

 

A: 이 상자들을 분해해줄 수 있니?

B: 그럼, 문제없어.

 

A: 이 수학문제를 이해할 수 없어.

B: 내가 너한테 하나씩 설명해줄게.

 

Carry on(계속하다)

 

A: 공부하기 너무 지쳤어.

B: 조금만 더 계속해봐. 시험이 내일이잖아.

 

A: 승무원이 짐을 머리 위 수납함에 넣고 안전벨트를 매고 계속하라고 했어.

B: 알았어, 그래야지.

 

A: 이 프로젝트를 끝낼 수 있을지 모르겠어.

B: 포기하지마. 그냥 계속 최선을 다해봐.

 

Get along(사이좋게 지내다/협조하다)

 

A: 너와 네 언니는 사이가 좋아?

B: 응, 우리는 매우 친해.

 

A: 새로운 팀원들이 걱정되네.

B: 왜?

A: 다른 사람들과 잘 지낼 수 있을지 모르겠어.

 

A: 친구들과 여행은 어땠어?

B: 정말 좋았어! 우리 모두 잘 지냈거든.

 

Hold on(기다리다/잠깐만)

 

A: 소금 좀 건네줄래?

B: 응, 잠깐만 기다려봐.

 

A: 전화를 걸어야겠어.

B: 알았어, 내가 전화기 가져올 동안 기다려봐.

 

A: 나갈 준비 됐어?

B: 아직 안됐는데 몇 분만 더 기다려줄래?

 

Look up(찾아보다/조사하다)

 

A: 프랑스의 수도가 뭐야?

B: 응, 파리야. 근데 확실하지 않으면 언제든지 찾아볼 수 있어.

 

A: 이 단어는 어떻게 철자해?

B: 잘 모르겠네. 사전에서 찾아보자.

 

A: 이 주제에 대해 더 많이 배우고 싶어. 

B: 관련 기사나 책을 찾아봐야겠어.
